With Books of Kindness (BoK), we’re trying to send our favorites out to people who want to give a book themselves. We don’t want anything in return. The books are free! We’ll send it to you and you can give the book to someone who you think would love it once you receive it.
Our mission for this project is to raise awareness for communities and groups in need. By giving out free books, we’re hoping to brings eyes to causes that we think are important, like the Migrant Camps on the Mexican Border, where we are working with on-the-ground volunteer organizations based in the Matamoros refugee camp to send care packages of books to asylum seekers there.
Started in June of 2020 alongside my partner, BoK is a not-for-profit initiative to give away books for a better cause. Having already shipped books around the nation to 6 different states, we are expanding our reach primarily through our website and social platform on Instagram, @thebooksofkindness
